The GM Amateur Radio Club (GMARC) was chartered by General Motors Corporation in 1989 to further the interests of The Amateur Radio Service in Southeastern Michigan, and to:

1) Secure for our members the pleasure and benefits of the association with persons commonly interested in Amateur Radio,

2) Provide community service in the area where we operate,

3) Promote emergency communications via multiple modes of operation on Amateur Radio frequencies,

4) Provide an effective 2-meter and 440-MHz repeater infrastructure.

5) Openly and effectively communicate with other Amateur Radio Clubs in Michigan to promote the goals of The Amateur Radio Service,

6) Recruit new members to assure a thriving and growing organization in order assure that the above objective can be reasonably attained,

7) Maintain training and development programs for members (and prospective members) to assure our operating skills and to offer the opportunity for interested persons to obtain an FCC license and join the ranks of Amateur Radio Operators.

Membership is open to all persons interested in Amateur Radio.

GMARC operartes (2) repeaters from the top of the Detroit Renaissance Center    - 775 feet above the Detroit River.
