The history of the Quaboag Valley Amateur Radio Club before the 1970’s is primarily an oral history with very little supporting documentation.   It is believed that the club began as a merger between the Podunk Amateur Radio Club of East Brookfield, MA and the Ware Radio Club of Ware, MA.  

The earliest documentation related to the club is a mimeographed newsletter with a note dating it to 1960.   It is written in the archives that the Ware club’s 2 meter repeater on Coy Hill in Warren, MA was the attraction for the merger which then became The Quaboag Valley Repeater Association.  In about 1987 the club became affiliated with the ARRL.  At that time the club name was changed to The Quaboag Valley Amateur Radio Club to reflect the new broader charter the club was embarking on. 

In February of 1994 the club meeting place was moved from a meeting room at Country Bank for Savings in Ware to the West Brookfield Senior Center on Central St. where it currently meets monthly.
