BASE LOADING E&H ANTENNA | medaewyn | on 22/8/16 |
Suppose we use a vertical whip with a base loading coil that has the winding axis oriented horizontal instead of vertical. Now, the antenna is sensitive to the vertical electric field and also to the horizontal magnetic field. If the axis of the coil is oriented at right angles to the direction to the distant transmitting station, we now get a response from both fields. This might make for a more sensitive antenna. Anyone out there ever tried this???? John Sutton KD8VJS |
