FM operation for ARRL VHF June Contest | KX1W | on 6/8/15 |
Gerald (WD3D), my license class has nothing to do with my contesting question (as AI4BJ points out). I have not operated a VHF contest, and the only 6m FM operation I was familiar with was through repeaters. Obviously it's for simplex operation. | ||
LOTW and QSL cards | KX1W | on 12/6/15 |
I have 79 entities confirmed on LOTW. I have worked 117 but the others are not using LOTW. Since DXCC does not accept ecards from eQSL.com, do I need postmarked QSLs from the other entities if I don't want to wait until I can confirm 100 via LOTW? Ron Fish, KX1W |

HF Interference on 15/17m | KX1W | on 12/6/15 |
I'm using an older Ten-Tec Delta II rig which was checked at the factory before use. For some time now, I have been receiving noticeable interference only on the 15 and 17 meter bands. The interference is a blanking one where SSB signals are so distorted I am unable to understand them or complete a QSO. It isn't power line noise as I'm not near any lines and it's not a popping sound. Sometimes the interference is gone and I can use the bands, so I can't pinpoint any times. It's usually present. I have no wall warts or anything generating RFI near the rig. Any help here? I did not have this problem last year when I set up the rig but I don't know what has changed. Ron Fish, KX1W |

FM operation for ARRL VHF June Contest | KX1W | on 12/6/15 |
There is an FM only category for tomorrow's VHF contest. Does that mean contacts on 6 meters should be through repeaters only? Are repeater contacts allowed? (I know they're not for VUCC). Tnx, Ron Fish, KX1W |
